AOL is the worst. If you read their terms of service, it says harasser will be removed at their discretion. I have had typed into a public chatroom that someone will come to my house and shoot me in the face with a shotgn, this was reported by many people in the chatroom, aol did not even give the person who posted the comment a tos (terms of service violation.

this harassment has been ongoing for 7 years, despite my hiring lawyers, having law enforcement officers call in. aol refuses to nything even with my personal inf such as home address, phone number and my children’s school info posted many times. One bully even went so as to “break’ into my childs private myspace nd steal pictures of my child. the bully then proceeded to make a fake AOL profile using my child’s pictures. AOl has a history of this torment, but I had to send in notarized letters to them stating the person behind this fake profile was not my child. AOL knew this, after all, they have the bully’s info and IP address. this endangered my child.

I think parents need to take more responsibility for what their kids are saying. Cyberbullying is done by kids who think they are heard and not seen. They are wrong. Parents need to make sure their kids know how to act online before they give them the ability. Now that laws are being passed, hopefully kids will start realizing there are repercussions for being mean online.
